Christ Heals That Which is Broken

Christ Heals That Which is Broken

Amy A. Wright

Takeaways:

Christ can heal broken relationships with God by providing a way for us to repent. He invites us to “go forth and change,” which also allows us to “go forth and heal.”

Christ can heal broken relationships with others through his enabling power. “[F]orgiveness is one of the noblest gifts we can give one another and most specifically ourselves.” “Extending forgiveness can take tremendous courage and humility. It can also take time. It requires us to put our faith and trust in the Lord as we assume accountability for the condition of our hearts. Here lies the significance and power of our agency.”

Christ can heal the broken part of ourselves. When we are waiting upon the Lord for healing, it can be a sacred place of polishing and refining where we strengthen our relationship with God. It can also be a difficult place, ”a place where spiritual perseverance requires us to exercise faith in Christ by intentionally choosing Him again and again and again.”

“[D]eliverance from our trials is different for each of us, and therefore our focus should be less about the way in which we are delivered and more about the Deliverer Himself.” Faith in Christ means faith in his will and His timing.

Questions to Ponder:

Are there relationships or other things in your lives that you feel are broken or that need to be healed?

How can you focus more on the Deliverer instead of on the way you wish to be delivered from the brokenness you are experiencing?
