Conversion is our Goal

Conversion is our Goal

Mark L. Pace

Takeaways:

We have been using the Come, Follow Me curriculum for three years now. We should assess our progress and make sure we are still moving toward our goal.

The goal of Come, Follow Me is conversion, which requires “consistent, daily efforts to understand and live the gospel.” The Holy Ghost is fundamental in the process. “To be most effective, your experiences with the scriptures must be your own. . . . There is no substitute for the time you spend in the scriptures, hearing the Holy Ghost speak directly to you.”

You can increase your attention to the Holy Ghost by pondering, over and over again, as you read the scriptures “what is the Holy Ghost teaching me in these chapters?”

President Nelson promised four specific blessings that would come if we “transform our homes into sanctuaries of faith and centers of gospel learning;”
“1) your Sabbath days will be a delight,
2) your children will be excited to learn and live the Savior’s teachings,
3) the influence of the adversary in your life and in your home will decrease, and
4) these changes in your family will be dramatic and sustaining.”

“Today, as we follow the Lord’s direction given through our living prophet, President Nelson, we are equally blessed with conversion in our hearts and protection in our homes.”

Questions to Ponder:

Question to ponder each time you study the scriptures: “What is the Holy Ghost teaching me this week as I read these chapters?”

Is your home a “sanctuary of faith”? Is it a “center of gospel learning”?

Ponder the promises from Russell M. Nelson when he introduced the Come, Follow Me curriculum. How have you seen those promises fulfilled in your life? Are any of those promises something you need in your life and family now?
