Covenants with God Strengthen, Protect, and Prepare Us for Eternal Glory
Jean B. Bingham
Takeaways:
Our covenants and our testimony of Christ keep us from being broken by adversity. The Savior is our anchor and we are bound to him through our covenants.
We can strengthen that anchor by praying humbly, studying and pondering the scriptures, taking the sacrament reverently and repentantly, striving to keep the commandments, and following the prophet. “As we fulfill our everyday tasks in ‘higher and holier’ ways, we become more connected to the Savior and, at the same time, help others come unto Him.”
The eternal ties we have with our family depend on our keeping our covenant promises. “Happiness is hollow if we exchange the blessings of eternal joy for momentary ease.”
“[A]bove all else, stay on the covenant path . . . don’t let detractors or distractions pull you away from eternal truths. Study and ask trusted sources for greater understanding of the sacred significance of the covenants you have made. Go to the temple as often as you can and listen to the Spirit.”

Questions to Ponder:
Think of the covenants you have made in your life: what are they? What have you promised to do? What promises has God made to you? If you cannot answer these questions, consider making them part of your gospel study.
How can you fulfill your everyday tasks in “higher and holier” ways?
