Ladder of Faith

Ladder of Faith

Larry S. Kacher

Takeaways:

Accepting God’s will in place of our own is key to finding joy no matter our circumstances.

Faith is a ladder—it is not static. Our faith can go up or down according to the choices we make.

At the bottom of the ladder is obedience that comes from a sense of obligation or guilt rather than love. As we continue toward true faith, we recognize that obedience and faith in the Savior qualify us to have His Spirit always with us, and we do not have to be overdependent on ourselves. Obedience then becomes a quest, not an irritant. We recognize that our obedience allows God to trust us, which trust comes with increased light. This light guides our journey and allows us to see more clearly the path we should take.

As we better understand our relationship with God, we are more able to align our will with God’s will.

Unbelief blocks our ability to see miracles, whereas a mindset of faith in the Savior unlocks the powers of heaven.

Challenge:

Ponder the questions posed in the talk, and if you find that your current path is in conflict with your faith in the Savior, find your way back to Him.

Questions to Ponder:

What is God’s will for you? We all think about what we want, but how often do you consider what God wants?

What impact have your choices had on your faith in the Savior?

“Am I stripped of pride?”
“Do I give place in my heart for the word of God?”
“Do I allow my afflictions to be consecrated for my gain?”
“Am I willing to let my will be swallowed up in the will of the Father?”
“If I have felt to sing the song of redeeming love, can I feel so now?”
“Do I let God prevail in my life?”
