Lift Up Your Heart and Rejoice

Lift Up Your Heart and Rejoice

Marcos A. Aidukaitis

Takeaways:

“Lift up your heart and rejoice, for the hour of your mission is come.”

We have all been charged with the mission of gathering Israel on both sides of the veil. “The gathering makes an eternal difference to all.” People of all ages and in all locations can participate. “There is no other cause in the world more inclusive.”

The gathering is so important because every soul is precious to God.

Any time you do anything that helps anyone take a step toward making covenants with God, you are helping to gather Israel. One particular way of helping in the gathering is full-time missionary service. There are many reasons not to serve a mission.

Jesus Christ is a “great inspiration not to be afraid of the future” because he also had a mission to fulfill and he was able to put the will of his Father before his own will.

“It is true that all the children of God are blessed in one way or another, but there is a difference between being blessed and being richly blessed in His service.”

All the things Elder Aidukaitis learned on a mission were instrumental in preparing him for adult life including “marriage and parenthood, Church service, and professional and community life.”

Questions to Ponder:

What roadblocks do you face in accepting your call to serve the Lord in gathering Israel, either through full-time missionary service or otherwise?

Do you trust that the sacrifices you make in answering the call to gather Israel will lead to your being “richly blessed”? Are you willing to trade the things you want now for the blessings the Lord has in store for you?
