“Then Will I Make Weak Things Become Strong”

Takeaways:
One of Satan’s greatest lies is the men and women cannot change. This untruth gets told and retold in many different ways as the world says that we simply cannot change—or worse yet, that we should not change.” While it is good to be authentic, we should be authentic to our true selves as children of God. This will require us to change and “put off the natural man.”
God’s love is perfect, but it has conditions. He loves us as we are, but he cannot take us into His kingdom as we are. We need to become perfect. Repentance is not a punishment, it is something that allows us to change into perfect beings who can enter God’s kingdom.
“[A]s we first change our fallen natures, our weakness, then we will be able to change our behaviors, our weaknesses.” According to the Lord’s pattern, the requirements for change are 1) humility; 2) faith in Jesus Christ; and 3) grace.

Questions to Ponder:
Think about your “true, authentic” self. How do you define yourself? What aspects of yourself (behaviors, values, habits, etc.) are derived from the carnal or “natural man”? What aspects of yourself are derived from your identity as a child of God?
Do you view repentance as a punishment or an opportunity to change?
